To the students of Stuyvesant High School:

Welcome to Stuy Shelf! First, register. Don’t worry, there are only two fields, and that’s a fraction of your college app.

You may use any username you wish (such as your name), but once you have logged in, please click on “profile” and fill in your real first name and last name.

To post, click on “new post” or “add new” under posts, whichever you see first. Give it a title. At the end of the toolbar, click on the “show/hide kitchen sink” button for more options.

If you’re pasting from Word, click on the “paste from word” button (the mini-clipboard with the blue W) for best results.

Now for category: this is the genre of the book. If it’s there, check it. If not, add a new category. You may choose more than one genre! I know, I sometimes stumble across one that I’m torn over trying to decide.

If you’re clever (or wanna get clever), tag it. Say you’re on the gymnastics team (you don’t have to be) and you think it would be a good read for other people on the gymnastics team, tag it with gymnastics team.

Sample caption!

To make this site much more aesthetically pleasing, find a photo of the book! Save it somewhere you can find. Then in upload/insert, “add an image,” select the image, and type in its title. Why not give it a caption while you’re at it? Click on “link URL” and align left or right. Thumbnail or medium works fine. Then click on “insert into post”! That’s important!

Finally, don’t forget to click publish or update post.

That’s about it! Make sure you’ve entered your name into your profile for class credit.

If you run into anything, send victor at stuyspectator.com something. (I also need a maintainer who can work with Wordpress.) Oh, and there are five colors to choose from, something you don’t get from *ahem*.
